Our Story

Silver Lining is a newly formed classic rock band from Montreal, created by drummer Domenic Marrone. The lineup brings together decades of talent and friendship: Domenic driving the beat on drums and vocals, his brother Rick adding keys and percussion, longtime collaborator Paul on lead guitar and harmonies, Joe on rhythm guitar, Dave on bass and backing vocals, and powerhouse frontman Richard leading on vocals.

Together, the band delivers a high-energy mix of rock classics spanning from the ’60s to today—everything from Zeppelin and The Stones to Bryan Adams, Tom Petty, and beyond. With a vast repertoire that keeps crowds singing along and dancing all night, Silver Lining brings something for everyone.

More than just musicians, we’re a turnkey live music experience. We provide a full PA system, professional soundman, and stage setup, making it easy to book us for any event—big or small. Whether it’s rocking out at a local bar, firing up a festival crowd, or transforming a private party into an unforgettable night, Silver Lining is built to make the event shine.

Born from decades of jamming, performing, and a shared love for music, Silver Lining is proof that it’s never too late to chase the songs that move you—and to bring the power of rock ’n’ roll straight to your stage.

About Paul

PAUL COUTURE - LEAD GUITAR / VOCALS

"I've been playing guitar for longer than I can remember. In high school, I formed my first band with Domenic and Rick. Later, I became very active in the local music scene, starting with Becket Players, a charity organization, which lead him  meeting my longest musical collaborators. I joined the band This is True in the late 90s, and have been performing with them ever since. I've been most active recently with the acoustic duo This is 2,  an offshoot of This is True. Now, with Silver Lining, I'm excited to be reconnecting with Dom and Rock once more!"

RICK MARRONE - KEYBOARD / PERCUSION

“Growing up in a house filled with music—and with my dad’s influence as a drummer—it feels like I’ve been playing for as long as I can remember. I started on piano, moved to drums, and picked up guitar in my teens. My brother Domenic and I spent countless hours jamming together to Led Zeppelin and Stevie Ray Vaughan, never imagining that years later we’d reconnect on stage performing some of those very same songs.

Playing in high school bands and at weddings taught me the ropes and deepened my love for performing. While I enjoy all genres, I’ve always been drawn to the energy of Country and Rock ’n’ Roll. Off stage, my career as a video producer lets me put my musical skills to work, scoring films and composing tracks for commercials. I’ve even dabbled with my own songs, and been brave enough to share them with the world—check them out here

These days, I’m thrilled to be part of this talented group of rockers, adding a little “digital spice” to classic rock tunes with my keyboard and drum machine.”

About Dom

DOMENIC MARRONE - DRUMS / VOCALS / TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

"Music has always been more than just a hobby for me—it’s been a way of life for as long as I can remember. I started playing drums when I was just eight years old, and from that moment on, I was hooked. It wasn’t just the beats or the rhythms that got me—it was everything about making music. Whether I was recording tracks, building guitars from scratch, painting them to perfection, or fixing up instruments that had seen better days, I loved every piece of the process.

My first real band started back in high school. I teamed up with my good friend Paul, and before long, my brother Rick joined the mix. We were just a bunch of kids with big dreams, loud amps, and a garage that probably drove the neighbors crazy. But it was the start of something special.

Over the years, I played in a lot of bands, mostly gigging at weddings, events, and anywhere else we could get the crowd moving. It was fun, rewarding, and a great way to hone the craft—but deep down, I always held onto a dream: to be part of a good old-fashioned rock and roll band, playing gritty clubs and loud bars, where the connection with the crowd is raw and real.

And here we are—40 years later—living that dream!

Reunited with Paul and Rick, we’ve come full circle, launching our new band: Silver Lining. This project is the culmination of decades of friendship, passion, and an undying love for rock and roll. It’s proof that it’s never too late to chase the music that moves you.

So whether you’ve been following our journey since those early garage days or you’re just discovering us now—welcome. Silver Lining is here, and we’re just getting started.

See you at the next show!"

DAVE MANION - BASS / VOCALS

"I was the youngest of 4 and listened to  all my siblings albums as much or even more than they did! Music always spoke to me on another deeper level than most. Then I got a bass guitar for my 15th birthday and formed a band with my 3 other friends. We did private parties and a few Brasseries  when we were good enough but quickly realized it was not going to be  a main source of income. 46 yrs and a dozen or so bands later, playing music is my cathartic passion that I cannot live without!"

About Joe

JOE MARRONE - RHYTHM GUITAR

"My musical journey began at the age of seven, when I first picked up a guitar. I was immediately captivated by the instrument, spending countless hours in my bedroom practicing. This wasn't just a hobby, it was a passion.  I dedicated myself to learning every riff and tune I could get my hands on.

As a teenager, my solitary practice sessions gave way to garage bands with rehearsals in basements and garages. In my late teens and twenties, I was part of a wedding band and played many events in various venues and community halls. There’s a unique thrill in performing live, a powerful connection between musician and audience that is truly amazing.

Over the years, the bands and musical styles have changed, but my love for the guitar has remained a constant. I’ve had the privilege of playing in a variety of bands, each one a new adventure and a chance to grow as a musician. The guitar has been a faithful companion through all of life's ups and downs. It's a journey that continues to this day with the Silver Lining band and I am enjoying every minute of it."

RICHARD DRAPEAU - LEAD VOCALS

"My musical journey began before some of my band mates were even born! As an air force brat living in Germany in the mid 70’s, I began singing in musical plays written by my music teacher, Mr. George Ryan. Starting in the chorus I slowly made my way to a lead role. My family’s return to Canada, to Bagotville in the Saguenay (to be precise), coincided with a break in musical experiences, except for those moments when my father said I was “giving myself a concert” by blasting music in the basement and wailing away Billy Joel and Elton John tunes. Then came a move to Montreal where my musical experiences became very eclectic. My first band, Rubber Soul and the Zebrass played a mix of funk-rap-heavy soul music influenced by Living Colour, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, King’s X, Fishbone and the like. I then shifted gear and embarked on a 10-year opera-training experience. This led me to sing for the Montreal West Operatic Society and eventually to return to musical theater with the Lyric Theatre Singers. I later joined Mercury 730, another rock band, of which I am still a member.

Silver Lining was born from the ashes of a retirement party at the beginning of 2025…and is now ready to take flight. My goal as a singer is to have fun -  I hope the joy we have playing together will makes its way offstage, lift your spirits, and bring a Silver Lining to your day!"
